so this morning I started looking for another van found a 2007 e 350 passenger van for 4thousand dollars so I did get that van to tow the trailer I am building . and it only has 1hundred forty thousand miles on the van I knew the 93 e150 was having a lot of mechanical issues was going to cost more than the van was worth to repair mechanic said it was going to get real costly to keep the van going

A much more capable rig for towing !
Good (better) luck with this one !

that's what the mechanic said that it was a good price for the van it was  a fleet van so I have most of the paperwork for it I loved my old van but the next repair for the transmition was going to cost more than the new van

Bad news on the old van, but good news on the new one. I hope this one works for you.

Big step up in vans! More windows though if its a a passenger

Which shop was going to charge over $4000 for a rebuilt transmission? Seems pretty high but maybe not...

$4000. is way high. The last Ford transmission I had rebuilt was $1700. I'm pretty sure you can find them already rebuilt for around the same money.
Mine was done somewhere around 5 years ago.
Where did you get the $4000. quote?

it gets real pricey here in my part of Missouri

Try another shop? Shouldn't be anymore than $2000-2500 or so.

my other van was a conversion van and I like windows I am going to try to teach my self how to tent them

I love all the pic FALCON has shown of his window van, seems like they can be a fine choice for traveling.

Any way you look at it you would have spent at least $2000.00 repairing the transmission in the '93 van so actually it only cost you $2000.00 difference to upgrade to the 2007 van. If the '07 van is in good shape that is a good upgrade for the extra money spent.
