Wow , you even got the ring thing to go on the top of all the plug wire ends !
I've never been able to get that to do that on mine....

I've never seen the top of my engine without all the AC and pollution stuff in the way either.
Access envy !

I'm amazed how clean it is. Inside and out. Was that under a cover or sit in the sun?

It was in use for 12 years. But in a town of only 47 people. Its been stored indoors all its life. That is what the mayor told us. Then stored in the city shop till it was auctioned off to us.

I use die electric grease when installing my wires. Then i take a little dab and rub the tips that go threw the top clip. Then push and just a bit of a turn back n forth they pop right in. The only local place I could find that carried oem wires is napa here. 8mm with the nubs.

hey that has a mount for a York AC compressor.  those make great OBA(on board air) compressors.  I have one on my truck for an air compressor,

I just took it off as it was empty and in my way to ull the radiator later.

If its this guy i would love to figure that out. I want to put a modern a/c in it anyway.

I use the grease on the plugs and distributor ends but never thought of trying on the tips /ring .
I'll try that the next time I get the ambition to pull the cover again.
It will probably be next summer , I have to completely remove the passenger seat to it!!
(It's in a class C RV , the dinette seat back jams it up against the doghouse)

My compressor is still mounted there but I took off the belt when I bought it back in '09.
I think I would rather have the space than an air compressor though.

I replaced the coil in the distro due to starting problems ,,,, it cost less than the cap!

Yep the grease lets them slide right on, and off. Just a tiny bit needed. That must not be fun having to remove the seat to get the doghouse off. Mine is very close. Another 1/2 inch it woukd not come off. I'm looking for nice seats with now. Already found swiveling seat bases.

I could move the dinette seat I guess , but the water tank is under that one !!

Some day I'm going to tear the whole structure above the floor and rebuild the whole thing but will need a place to put all the pieces , my stuff inside and sleep too,,,,,,,,,,,
Not a day job !

I get a small drive up storage unit each time i do something that requires more room. Its a pain but its dry and relatively cheep.

Thanks for that info. I may just give this compressor to my son for his XJ build.

Welcome, Looking good :). Looking forward to watching your project progress.

Long day yesterday tearing out the rest of the inside.
Total weight removed. Just over 600 pounds taken to the dump.

Found these rear door catches in a junkyard as well. Now the rear doors don't swing all the way open unless I pull the pin. Plus the wind won't slam the doors. I will have to remove the old ones that are causing a dent on the van and weld up the holes thou.

If anyone has a good way to remove all the rescuis stickers all over the van Im all ears. Just the two on the rear windows were a killer and that was on glass. They are thick, break into very tiny pieces and even a razor blade is almost no match for them. Ugggg
