My Week magazine had a bit about a portable, battery powered, small microwave by a company called Wayv (I can't post a direct link, but a simple search will find it).

$200, about 6 uses per charge.  Will not be out for a while.  Sounds like a great idea; thoughts?

Cheers
Steve

There's a video at the end of the article. Also, this article from 5/20/2016.
One of the comments from that article: "Is this actually a microwave? The linked site uses square quotes around "Microwave" and calls it "the world’s first solid-state RF heater," which to me says "not actually a microwave.""

Latest video I can find on youtube is also around that 2016 time.

skeptical...

Edit: from https://qz.com/1104276/metoo/

" Correction: An earlier version of this post said that microwaves can be set from 50 Watts to 250 Watts. They can actually be set from 250 Watts to 1,000 Watts in 250 Watt steps. Additionally, an earlier version of this article referred to the NPX oven as a “Sage” oven, but we have since learned they have had a cease and desist request for the specific product; they make the hardware for the product only."

So it looks dead?

All indications are no one has really had one of these working. It all sounds good on paper because they use all the big words associated with real microwave generators.
