Have a bus, step van, box truck or other vehicle that is being converted or has been converted to an RV-like dwelling? Having trouble getting it titled and registered? Vermont might be your answer. Evidently, they'll register any vehicle for people living anywhere. And you can do it all by mail, with no inspection.

Here's an article about it: https://jalopnik.com/my-bus-has-plates-because-the-vermont-dmv-is-secretly-a-1845700048

Unfortunately, the article doesn't mention insurance, but once Vermont calls it an RV instead of a commercial vehicle or bus, then that hurdle should be taken care of.

Registration is easy. It’s sourcing insurance coverage for DIY conversions that’s problematic.
