<font size="4">I currently have van skirting on both side's of my van. My question is would it make&nbsp;sense to remove these? Are these providing some kind of aero-dynamic&nbsp;effect for better gas&nbsp;mileage or are the just dead weight?</font><div><font size="4">I'm not concerned about looks. I want what's&nbsp;gonna give me the best&nbsp;fuel&nbsp;mileage. I'm also concerned about going off road with the side rails being so low. The step is nice though getting in and out of the van.</font></div>

&nbsp;I consider them to be nothing more than a pain in the butt. Of course, I tend to hit the more remote areas where the reduced ground clearance caused by skirting leads to it just getting bent/torn up and then torn off. Same goes for running boards on pickup trucks.. I'll just take em off and sell to some fool on Craigslist. ..Willy.<br>

They're just looks and steps.<div><br></div><div>In order for them to provide an&nbsp;aerodynamic&nbsp;benefit, they would have to be a lot better shaped, and a lot lower to the ground then you would ever find them.</div><div><br><div><br></div><div>If you want steps, there are plenty of tough options out there.</div></div>

Take em off now or lose em on the trial... May make a little scratch by selling them...<br>

&nbsp;One other thing I found is that the anchor points of the skirting are often where body rot (rust) starts. ..Willy.<br>

Willy, I just finished&nbsp;removing the skirting and was amazed at how little rust is under this van. But this van has never seen snow (salt) being a Florida&nbsp;vehicle.&nbsp;Defiantly gonna need some kind of under coat for up north&nbsp;traveling.&nbsp;
