I'm a mechanic by trade and I rather repair my own vehicles. Where would a person change engine oil, transmission fluid or just a minor repair? Is there a place this is allow?

Out here in Farmingdale years ago there "was" a "U-Repair-It" place -- $8 an hour -- lift / air / drop light / pump jack -- any other tool you need was extra

Like this place --

http://ufixitautomotive.com/

I do all my wrenching in the field, where I live... To change oil have a proper receptacle and put a couple trash bags under them for spills... Same for tranny though this can be tricky... Lube in the same way, collect any excess up with a garbage bag... For any fluids I have it collected and use a funnel to pour the old into the fresh containers after filling up what ever I am working on...

The key is to get the job done without any spillage, hey treat the ground your camping on with the same respect you would have with your homes drive way... It is all doable to include a host of other projects...

Remember to always recycle the fluids or dispose of properly, no one wants to be "that" guy who doesn't...

Thanks ricekila, I see u-fix-it have only two locations and it it looks like you can do major repairs.
Before I had a scanner, I use to go to Autozone and let em run it and I seen customers working on their vehicles in the parking lot.
As far as oil changes, some states might have more ground contamination laws than others. Even if you abide by the laws, their's always someone that won't. So they gotta enforce em...
