Hi all. I am looking for a van. I saw a silver ford transit 250 hightop. The silver looked really good to me. Is a silver van stealthy enough for city? Anyone have and live in these ford transit t250 vans? Do you like it? Thx--Austin

I got lucky and after seeing dozens of plain jane white vans, ended up with a silver one with windows in just the right places. It's a 250 medium roof, long (not extended).
I'm just getting started with the build, but I absolutely love driving it every day.

Stealth is a whole other question and you'll hear all about it shortly, I'm sure.  But regardless of how you feel about stealth in general, these big Transit vans are just too new and different to go unnoticed.  If you really need to fly under the radar, you can't beat a plain white Chevy Express.

btw - welcome to the forum :)

I think a normal metallic is stealthier much as anything. White is famous for being sketchy.

Hey, only if it says free candy on the side. :p  I may be wrong, but I think most service oriented businesses use White.

Silver is fine - no graphics hopefully.  The high top causes more "looks" if you are not in a commercial area. Not too many homeowners have one...
I rarely notice the low top Transit no matter the color, windows or not.

Advantage of the high top is that solar is hidden better.

Another advantage is being able to stand up in them.  Disadvantages:  higher gas consumption because of the drag and weight caused by the high top, trickier to drive in high winds.
