Thanks Moby, one of the guys gave us directions.
I hear the mud has 118 minerals and has some powerful healing powers. We'll try to make it over that way.

We're enjoying our stay here in Amargosa and I've even gotten a couple small projects done. The new air horns really rock.
Today is reserved for total relaxation, which includes going for a little hike in the desert with the camera.

We're in Beatty, Nv now. Went to the free museum today. Really enjoyed their displays.
Tomorrow we're going out to the ghost town of Rhyolite.
Might hang around here a couple more days.

Well, we decided to cough up the 25 bucks to stay a day/night at Bailey's hot spring rv park. We need to dump tanks anyway and we'll soak the old bonz to our hearts content.

Oh, Margie got to feed a cookie to one of the wild burros in town yesterday. She was thrilled.

We're in Winnemucca after a nice trip up to Goldfield and Austin, Nv. The Big Smoky Valley was a beautiful drive. We found a couple more hot springs along the way, one private in Carvers where they charged a few bucks and allowed us to park for the night too.

Got to Winnemucca in time to settle in at "Camp WallyWorld" before it rained for 1 1/2 days. Looks like it will be clear today so we can look around town. They have a mining museum that's supposed to be good, wanna see that. Need to restock groceries too.

Dropped to about 35 last night, but supposed to warm over the next couple days. Hope so since we plan to head for Lakeview, Or on Friday.

Wow I just past through Winnemucca yesterday on my way back from a gold mine near Love Lock, NV. Stayed the night at the TA truck stop west of Winnemucca, didn't think I would get parking for a semi truck with 2 trailers at 100 ft long in Winnemucca since the Hycroft mine has a lot of trucks going in out. There all parking in Winnemucca.

Hi Spiritual,
You prolly made the best choice. Flying J on the west end is kinda tight and lots of traffic.

We found our fuel pump is shot and had to order one at Auto Zone (3 blocks away). It will be here tomorrow and I'll install it in the truck lot.
Kept smelling gas and mileage dropped to 5 per gallon Good part....it was only $30 for our 454 Chevy gasser.
With our Flying J card we'll use their RV dump station ($5).
Sunday we'll head for Klamath Falls, Or. From Winnemucca its 166 miles to Adel, Or to the next fuel stop...None at Denio Junction on hwy 140. With a bad fuel pump and 5 mpg we wouldn't have made it....if the pump even held out and then wouldn't have been able to get one in Adel. Glad we found the problem here

Well, gotta go fix some chow....thanks MickyD for use of the wifi

bindi just a heads up in denio a couple of miles up the road from the jct there is fuel, also nice hot spring in (edited out) you will drive right by it. highdesertranger

Hey, I thought it was spring in Oregon. It got down to 24 last night and we even saw a little snow flying.
Makes me wish I was still in Tucson. Oh well, another few weeks and I'm sure I'll be glad I'm up here when Tucson is cooking.

Our time in Klamath Falls grows short. Its been a nice place to see. Enjoyed their Memorial Day parade despite a few showers and went to a moving ceremony at the VFW.
Went to the park by the lake the other day and had fun watching a lady feeding the geese and ducks....there were a huge gaggle of them there geese and a badelynge (yup, that's the word for a bunch) of ducks. Bindi didn't bark at them, but she did want to play, so we let her get close to one goose. It honked at her and she ran behind me. We got a laugh out of that.

This weekend we're helping our friends with a yard sale...they've never done one and we're well experienced. They've offered us 50% of the take, so we'll have some extra fun money for the next leg of our trip, way cool. Its supposed to be sunny and warm, so we should do well since I posted ads on Craigslist and made colorful signs.

Tuesday its on toward Coos Bay to begin the trek up the coast. We'll stop at Eagle Point for the night to visit a friend and again at Canyonville for a night.
We like short days of driving and frequent stops to look around. As I get older its not as easy to stay at the wheel for long periods.

Way past my bedtime, so I'm outta here for now.
Y'all be safe and enjoy the roads you travel.

Had a nice time seeing our friend in Eagle Point. Enjoyed the layover in Canyonville too. The 7 Feathers Casino has a free drylot you can park in and the shuttle will take you to town. Call the hotel desk or reach the shuttle on CB channel 3 for a ride. Don't forget to tip your driver a couple bucks. Wifi is free and good enough to use in the free lot.

We got to Coos Bay yesterday morning and spent the day walking around downtown and the bayfront. The Mill Casino has a free drylot...check in at the RV park office and they'll give you the required guest tag. Wifi will cost ya $10 if you use the free lot.
Had some great fresh caught fish for lunch.
In the afternoon we used the hot tubs at the casino hotel. Went back before bedtime for a relaxing soak and slept like rocks. Call the main desk for the shuttle or wave them down when they cruise by. A small tip is appreciated.

We'll hang out here today and head north in the morning.

We're not really gamblers, but we've found most casinos have free overnight parking.
We played a few slots here and there and have about broken even. At 7 Feathers (Canyonville) we picked up enough to pay for dinner.
Their players club card is also good for a 3 cent discount on fuel at their truckstop.
I hear there's a couple more up the coast. We'll post about parking, etc as we find them.

Hope you win big.

We stayed at Three Rivers Casino in Florence Last night. Nice enough, but the shuttle didn't go to the beach. They will take you to town tho. No wifi either.
There is free wifi along the city docks and some good food and drink there.

Tonight we're going to be at Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City. We'll let ya know about that one later.

It was a pleasant drive up from Florence this morning. We left early before the wind started blowing.
A bit too early for any of the attractions to be open yet. Newport was still rather sleepy when we went thru.

We're in Astoria, Or now. Catching up with some old friends and visiting with Margie's son and her sister.
Been a few changes around town since we lived here, but overall, Astoria remains much the same.
It rained during the drive from Lincoln City and slacked off by the time we reached Tillamook, so we didn't get too many pics of the beach towns along the way.
Touring the Tillamook Cheese factory was cool. Lots of free samples and really good ice cream.

We stayed one night at Chinook Winds Casino at Lincoln City, Or. The view from the free RV parking section was nice. We could see some of the beach and the sunset view was really nice.
The free shuttle service only goes into town on the weekends for some odd reason. There's a Safeway store at the top of the hill that has wifi with electric plugs to charge up. It was a pleasant experience and a wonderful beach.

We'll hang out in Astoria for a few days and then head for Clatskanie to visit a friend for a couple weeks.

We're really enjoying our time in Astoria. A friend had a BBQ yesterday so we got to see several people we've known for years.
We've found new places each night to park free. Always seems to be places near the waterfront and even in the lane a ways up from the town's (FREE) RV dump site near the traffic circle.

The dump lane is kinda tricky to get into. You have to go around the circle and hook a U turn into it if you're coming from Astoria. If you're coming from Warrenton take the first exit and get into the left turn immediately. Its a left hook into the street that runs parallel with Marine Dr. Dump only....find another place to fill your water tank ;-)

We've enjoyed being back in Astoria for a while, but its time to move on down the road again.
We'll stay tomight to see the fireworks and pull out in the morning. They put on a nice fireworks display from a barge near the Coast Guard dock on the Columbia River.

Safeway (on the east end of town) allows overnite parking. In fact, we've parked there several nights in the last couple weeks.
There are also lots of places around town where you can get away with parking if you're low-profile.

I think Portland is going to be a quick stopover and then on to Bend for a while.
