http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/...turer-travels-to-all-countries_n_2192680.html

Was looking for some inspiration to traveling the world with lower costs. This adventure driven traveler did it over three years. Cost per day of 10 pounds (aka $20). But from reading between the lines he did survive by living on the good will of others, via couch sleeping, and gifted travel costs. Still $8000 a year seems to be a good minimalistic figure to have in mind.

Good to see he had a charity to sponsor, and think that might be a requirement to pulling it off. You have to use motivation beyond self interest.

When retired would like to do this. And have a feeling that there are many other retired persons who wish they could do this, or who are possibly doing this on a social security retirement.

Have to think about what kind of medical issues to avoid if you are 60 plus years old trying to do this. Better than sitting in a retirement apartment.

Anyone else know of inspirational travel stories, done on the cheap? Have been finding a few stories about solo travelers here and there on the Internet. Of course found quite a few good stories here on CHEAP RV LIVING.
