If money were not the issue, which of the three popular vans would you purchase? (I tried to create a poll but it wouldn't let me or I did something wrong.)

Ford Transit (any)

Ram Promaster

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

If money was no option a older Ford sportsmobile with 7.3L diesel or v10 with 4x4. In good shape with a full factory build they sell for $50k.

Didn't you like the answers you got the previous time you asked this question?

If money were not an option (like if I magically won the lottery...), I would have to have a Quigley 4x4 van!

Judging by the service I have seen when the two wheel drive vans were used for shuttle service here at Lake Powell on mainly paved roads but several short trips on dirt access roads as well I would be concerned with the suspension and brakes. Many here overheated the brakes and were easily knocked out of alignment or wore out tires prematurely due to suspension wear.

I don't regret my purchase of a Transit med roof 130 wheel base.

I took a 3 week trip a couple of months ago. I hope to take a 2 or 3 month trip out west in the next few weeks.

AWD and 4WD are essentially the same thing, but AWD tends to be automatic, as in, it detects wheel spin in the rears, and the fronts hook in, usually with a viscous coupling. I have an AWD sport trac. I have no choice as to when it goes into 4WD. I can put it in 4WD but I cannot prevent it from doing so when it want's to. It also prevents me from towing it behind my motorhome. That sprinter probably has the same transfer case my sport trac does.

If money were no object I would buy all three of them to see which one I liked the best and then let you know. Always good to have a pair and a spare. If money were actually no object I would have a big barn of a garage to house all of them and some other lovely vehicles. Plus a driver living over them who keeps them nice and shiny and clean. I would also send them my favorite out to have a professional conversion done to the interior but keep the least favorite for a cargo van to help my staff keep the estate in good shape. The third one would have all the passenger seats in it just in case I wanted to transport a bunch of folks around or the staff needed to run to the airport to pick up incoming visitors and their luggage.

Well you did ask and you did present us with a fantasy situation...

Time to buy more lottery tickets so I can have the funds to make you a happy person who gets real life answers to your questions.

I wish I could afford any one of those vehicles - but I do like my 98 dodge w/ high top. I too always fantasize about what I would do if I had the cash. These days I like the pro master and feel better about the gas than diesel. I have never lost the lottery. If you put all the money you spent on lottery and casino in the bank over your life time how much would you have? The only slot machines I put quarters in are Maytags at the laundry mat.

Haha! I hate it when I lose to the slot machines at the laundromat.  -crofter

I lose money at the slot machines they put along the curb, I certainly don't get good return of value from those one legged bandits.
