It's surprising how stupid it is... or maybe not...

Come on, this is just BS. Why would a "total grid collapse" even happen? If you are worried about that for some silly reason, then go solar and forget about it...

I don't worry about it but do feel our biggest vulnerabilities are Cyber attacks & EMPs either sunspots or high altitude small nukes. It's just an interesting video I ran across,no more & no less.

As Nomads who aren't in the sticks & bricks (full or part time) it's important to consider one's own safety. If we didn't learning anything from the height of the Covid 19 event we did learn to seek out areas where our safety would best be assured.

Those whose rigs have solar & house batteries (or perhaps a generator) may be more self sufficient than those on the grid, but when people are afflicted by a disaster without power, water, food etc and are out hunting for resources at any cost, how safe from that would you be ? So being aware of your surroundings may be your best plan B.

Owning a Tesla and having lots of solar (in a remote location you own) might get rid of the need for the grid, gasoline, etc. but what about food and water? And what about medical care, medicine, etc.?
