Thoughts on Ford Transit 150 that was once owned by U-Haul?

The ex-Uhaul vans are a great deal if you are looking for a low top in white! They almost always have power windows, locks, cruise, a divider and a set of running boards that an elephant could stand on (Seriously, the running boards are awesome and are hot dipped galvanized).

To find these vans with extremely low miles is commonplace and I have seen them sold with just a few thousand miles on many occasions. I think it's a combination of Uhaul playing tax games and as stated above their volume commitment to the manufacturers. In other words, there is no reason to be concerned or suspicious about the low mileage. With the remainder of the 3year/36k mile bumper to bumper and the 5 year 60k power train it's hard to go wrong if the van fits your needs.

I would suggest checking out Ebay as well as dealers list these vans often. The 2016's will probably start popping up in February or so, that's a good time to pick up one of the remaining used 15's if you want to save even more.

I've not looked at such a newer vehicle from U-Haul, but recently I did look at 2 10-ft box vans that a local U-Haul center was selling. Pics and descriptions on their site led me to believe both box vans were in really great shape. When they pulled both up for me to look at, they had to have noticed the disappointment on my face. Both box vans had a large area of rust over the cabin area as well as rust on the rear wheel wells inside the cargo area. In fact, one wheel well in one of the vans had completely rusted through in about a 5 to 6-inch diameter spot and you could see the road. I left after that experience never desiring to look at another U-Haul vehicle for sale.

A guy name Rick has a YouTube channel called DreamsideOut and he bought a used 10-ft box van from U-Haul and he is quite happy with it. Based on what I saw from my experience, though, I'd have concerns about the rear wheel wells.

I like AutoCheck ( owned by Experian ) ( http://www.autocheck.com/vehiclehistory/autocheck/en/ ) when researching a used vehicle , they have more detail on there reports that CarFax , some of it car fax can not legally have , such as what is announced at the auto auction, flood , frame damage etc. regarding the vehicle .
A couple of years ago my neighbor bought a BMW and bragged about the carfax on it , I was searching for wheels for my daughter and had both .
The AutoCheck showed it had been in a minor accident , plus a major accident with frame damage .
The dealer did take the car back after she filed with the Mass. Attorney General's office .Bob

I would get it checked out by a good mechanic and if it checks out - try to drop them down and bit and go for it.  If it checks out, how far, really, can you go wrong with a vehicle like that? That's an excellent price for that van.
