thanks to a posting not long ago on hoboknitter (by twokniveskatie) I started reading up on a remarkably simple system of cooking that is fuel efficient & as healthy as you want to make it:

http://twokniveskatie.blogspot.com/2010/10/thermos-cooking-la-heidi.html

see also

http://eatdrinkbetter.com/2010/01/07/save-energy-by-cooking-with-yourthermos/

so, I'm wondering if any of us has had some experience with thermos cooking? how have you used the technique? any favorite recipes or meals?
I played with it for awhile. the problem was I didn't have a wide enough mouthed thermos bottle, and cleaning it was very hard. I didn't want to spend money for another thermos so I gave up. It has to have a wide mouth so you can get in to clean it. Bob
