Hello tribe.
Been a member for about a year and only posted a couple times but read the forums weekly and watch videos daily.
I was really wanting to make last year my first RTR but just couldn't swing it financially. So sense then I have been building out my truck. I Do have blog posts about it at theadventurebeginstruck.wordpress.com
I wanted to share the update with you all here. Still working on as money allows. First was find a topper. Craigslist find.
Second was solar , battery, charge controller all from what I already had.
Third the floor and fourth the bed.
Fifth fridge. 12volt not compressor fridge but what I already had from way back before I knew about compressor fridges. my solar sense to handle it ok. plus I have a isolator so all charges when I turn on the truck.
Sixth roof vent with fan. I couldn't afford a maxx air or fantastic fan right now but knew I needed something and can be upgraded later.
That's my build so far. Did take it out on a 5 day trip and everything worked great and loved it.

Nice, what kind of truck? I take it those are swing open sides. Saw a short beach folding chair that look like it might work inside a topper for rainy days. Have you thought of raising the bed sides with a wood or metal frame for head room? I got a raised wedge shaped topper which gave me enough room to build a platform floor, even with the wheel wells, that allowed slide out storage underneath and flat full width bed surface.

The truck is a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab with the 4.7 v8
The bed is futon so both a couch and a bed. When sitting on the futon my head just clears the roof supports. I put bug screens on the sides you can open both get a breeze and don't have to worry about anything. yes both side swing up. olllllllo
