Hi Richard,

I'm not sure if Verizon offers the plan I have. Nowadays, Verizon is pushing hard to sell their "share everything" plan. But their Share Everything plan really is only beneficial if a household has multiple members, plus use a variety of devices. In other words, for someone like myself as only 1 person, the Share Everything plan would be a detriment to me financially. If I had a family of 3 or 4 plus had multiple wireless devices, then it would be useful.

I have Verizon's 450 minute talk time plan, plus unlimited data (no longer offered), plus unlimited text messaging, plus roaming I think. The normal cost is approximately $100 a month for what I get, but due to a corporate discount, I'm getting something like 22% percent off the normal rate. Plus I also get 25% discount on all accessories purchased. I have no idea what rates are for AT&T, but my guess is that it's similar to rates offered by Verizon. AT&T is playing catch up to Verizon by adding more LTE networks to their coverage in the United States. Verizon started earlier with their LTE rollout, hence 4G internet data has a wider coverage by Verizon compared to AT&T.

I will also tell you something that I'm sure some people would take exception to. Nowadays, the term "4G" is used very loosely by all the major carriers, whether or not they really do offer 4G internet data speed. In my opinion, the only carriers that offer "true" 4G internet speed are Verizon first, then followed by AT&T. The other carriers such as Sprint, TMobile, MetroPCS say they also offer 4G internet data speed, but they are playing loosely with the terminology. Past issues of "Laptop Magazine" have done scientific tests of 4G internet speed by the major US carriers, and Verizon came on top. All the other carriers are joking when they say they also offer "4G" internet speed. Again, this is only my opinion, and I'm sure others would take exception to this. There may come a time in the future when internet speed will be much improved with the other carriers, but at this time Verizon and AT&T are the best bet for fast 4G internet data speed. In case you don't already know, 4G speed is considerably faster than 3G speed.

By the way, here is another hallmark of 4G LTE internet data. Because Verizon offers "true" 4G LTE, this means phones capable of this feature are able to handle simultaneous talk and data. This means you can be talking on the phone and surfing the internet at the SAME time. Previously, only AT&T phones with their GSM technology was able to handle simultaneous talk and internet data. But this is no longer the case. That's why I find it amusing when AT&T shows their deceptive TV commercials that only their AT&T phones can do simultaneous talk and data. FALSE!! Absolutely false advertising. Bad AT&T, haha!

Casey
