Here's an interesting video I stumbled across on YouTube. Basically when you share the load between two batteries, you get more of the available capacity out of the bank. He also has an interesting video on increasing the efficiency of a typical 120v mini-fridge by 40%. He's a bit sloppy in his method but the results are solid.

Thanks for posting this. I finally understand what it means to wire batteries in succession way better than I ever have and I've actually been trying to grasp it for a while now.
