You might need three dogs, just for the cold nights. I never heard of a four dog night . Now that would be real cold.

we sleep in a pile on the bed and yes they will keep me warm

I like your van and all the big windows. ..that's what I am looking for one day...lots of light

cargo vans are really hard to get in Missouri when they go on craigs list they are sold quick I got that one for $800.00 it has 2hundred and twelve thousand miles on it but runs nice and quiet

I have trouble sleeping in a house and avoid it big time.
Just too much space !!!
It's a snug as a bug thing I guess.........

could you all help me figure out which piece to use in the van I like both pieces but space is the factor in this let me know what you think .thank you

Is there room under the bed?  iF YOU UN- STACK EITHER UNIT YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO PLACE SOME OF THEM UNDER THE BED FOR STORAGE OR THE NARROW ONEs IN SOME NOOKS AND CRANNY'S IF YOU HAVE THEM.  Sorry about the caps. didn't realize it was on.  The large drawers I think would be good for larger bulky items and/or folded clothing.  Unless it's blouse's/dresses/skirts/ nice slacks I fold all my jeans/sweats/shorts etc.  When I move or travel me packing is like putting a puzzle together.  I don't like loose items banging around.  I have been known to pack perfume/jewelry/ other small items in clean socks that are stuck in shoes, saves space and it's easy to find them.  Just a few things that have worked for me.

I think it's gonna depend on what you need to carry and the room you have
a lot of folks choose totes over drawer sets, and i'm thinking there's a reason for that, but you have to do what you're comfortable with
It'd help to have an idea how you want to lay the van out
As someone else on here likes to say, failing to plan is planning to fail

Nice van, I miss mine.

I agree about the totes. I was going to go with little drawer units but I think the totes will be easier to get in and out of. Also I have a few of the plastic drawer units here and you have to load them pretty lightly or they twist and are hard to open. I am thinking of replacing my couch with a pair of wood dressers that will give a lot of storage as well as a long counter top for cooking, etc. Those don't warp and twist.

hi all I have modified the factory conversion van bed in back I took the center section of the bed loose so now it lifts out and gave me 6 square feet of storage that is about 6 milk crates of space . the reason I am keeping the factory bed is because this is done on a tight budget . I am going to try to remember to get to get pictures today of the modifications

well my family has started looking at me like I have lost my mind when they see the van inside with a bed inside and clothes hanging in the back . and all of my camping gear that I can use for  van dwelling and that should help save money . but yes I have a veteran friend that said to do what you want push your world to the limit be your self remember your late wife remember she did not want me to stay in a rut .my dad passed away 6 years ago and he said the same thing be my self be what I am a nomad . and my canoe partner passed away a month after dad her and I loved to run away to the woods or to the river to be in our happy spot the fun of traveling .

I'm wondering if you still plan on using the factory bed in back?  I'm still hauling around some of my Mom's stuff and now I have a big trailer hitch laying on mine that a friend will give me + all the accessories if it fits the SafarI.  It came off of his GMC Jimmy that was wrecked at least 5 times, not always by him.  It looks like you have good storage under it.  I'm sure mine will have to go as it's too close to the floor and I need all the storage space I can find.  I'm looking forward now to traveling with Queenie, the Safari, and dragging the Aliner behind me.  One of the main reasons I've been dragging my feet about becoming a nomad no longer has a hold over me, so Queenie and I are getting ready to Rock & Roll down the road.  I HOPE!

How are you doing on your road to freedom?
