Ok, so planning on heading south to Florida in October. Only one issue, I have only 10 days off work so I will be making the mad dash down I75. To further complicate the trip, there will be passengers, LOTS of them, DW and 3 kids + 1 more! I plan to cross at Detroit around 9 or 10 pm (keeping my doors locked) and would need to pull over here and there for a bit of shut eye. I'm the solo driver once I cross into the USA (the +1 is tagging along to that point). I plan to get my sleep in from home to the crossing (4-5hrs away from home) and then I'm 'Hans Soloing' it the rest of the way. I've done this trip before but am looking for any assistance as to 'safe' rest stops ON the highway (no deviations) to let the kiddies stretch their legs and for my headache to go away!
I know there are a lot of solo and couple travellers here, (most I assume without young children?) but I hope to get some good advise...
I think the last time it took 34 hrs start to finish (29 in USA)
Please no suggestions about driving fatigued or sleep deprived, I am well aware and always pull over if too tired. I have done this trip a couple times as well as other very long drives...
