Running the engine for a half hour or so per week would help the engine as well as keep the starter battery charged.

are we talking about recharging the house battery off the engine? not a good idea takes hours to bring a battery from 50 to 90% off an alternator. highdesertranger

Talking about charging the engine battery off the house battery, but unless it's specifically needed, I'd rather run the engine for a half hour per week to keep it up to speed.

Yes keeping the start battery topped during long times parked. It might be even better to take a drive occasionally.

ah ok I see now. it's a good idea to run your vehicle every so often anyways. so it sounds like a good idea. highdesertranger
