I've used countless screen protectors on all my devices, but I've never encountered one that was rubbery and soft. Maybe you got a cheap off brand? For sure there is better stuff out there, even if it costs a few dollars more it's worth it in the long run.

No SD card slot is a deal breaker for me. I like to store tons of stuff onto SD cards so it won't deplete the internal storage to nothing in no time. I always use the Sandisk Ultra 64GB micro SD cards, which costs $99 full price, but I usually get it for around $55 on sale.

I keep waiting for a larger 128GB fast card, but unfortunately, who knows when it might come out if ever. Make sure you get the "Class 10" memory cards (or faster), otherwise you might encounter the dreaded buffering delays, or stuttering, while watching or recording hi-def videos, etc. Yes it costs more for the fastest speed, but it's worth it.

Like my new Samsung Tab 3. Hate the rubbery, soft, hard to install screen protector.

Looked at the Nexus 7. Very sharp screen and $20 less. But no SD card port. Did not go for LTE. I am not on Sprint or Verizon and I am too cheap .... er, frugal to spend the extra $50 if it won't do me that much good. All in all, I am satisfied. The extra inch of screen really makes a difference.

I am on my phone, now. Got chased out of the house, again, by a realtor who wanted to bring someone thru. This is getting okd, but at least oeople are interested. By the time I get home, the tablet should be all charged up.

It sounds like she's describing the Zagg brand of sceen protectors. They feel that way at first but then you get that kind of orange peel feel to them.

Not sure why anyone needs extra ram or a SD card. I use DROPBOX and a cheap router with an USB port to connect a USB drive. Maybe $50 for that and complete adaptable.

I've had this Xoom for close to 3 years and never a screen protector. They said with gorilla glass you don't need it. Nary a scratch on the glass yet; after nearly 3 years. I keep it in a fols up case tho too.

Yes, it looks like it is made by Zagg. Hard to out on. I have bubbles I can't get rid of. The squeegie they provide is useless. If you try to use the old credit card method, it works better but it is easy to scrape or gouge the sheet.

Dropbox - supposedly, I have some free dropbox time. I didn't know what it was, so I skipped it. Maybe I will take a closer look.

Simran, I may go screen protectorless myself when this one gets too bad. I have a cover and I am not rough on my electronics.

Dropbox, SkyDrive, Google Drive are all cloud based storage offerings. Basically you can store your stuff on the internet where it's on highly redundant storage systems. The other benefit is being able to share or not if you want.

This is where I backup any perishable data in addition to local copies.

Woohoo! I got my Nook app loaded. In fact, I seem to have loaded it twice. I always was an over-achiever.

I had a Zagg protector put on my Android when I first got it. It was a tiny bit off on one corner and began to peel slightly after a couple months. Took it back to the mall cart and she put on a new one at no charge...this time it was set perfectly. Nearly 4 yrs later I only use it as a pocket computer with no cell service and the protector is still good to go.

I think Zagg is a good product, but they must be applied correctly.
Like window tint, the screen has to be wet and that moisture carefully worked out from the center to edge with the little squeegee. The trick is not to stretch the film. Then it needs to "cure" a while before use.
