ok I have seen allot of questions on how to bake on a stove top. this might help roast don't know about baking but might help with roasting. I don't have one of these and have never tried one but it does look interesting. I saved it to favs and might get one in the future. I am not endorsing this item and do not profit from it in any way. just thought I would pass it on. highdesertranger
http://www.charbroil.com/grilling-smoking-accessories/infusion-cooker.html

I've used the Coleman oven and carry one with me. Used it to bake meatloaf and some casseroles. Also lots of cookies and muffins.
Works okay, found most times I used it was early morning outs side when there is no breeze. With the wind, it is difficult to keep the temp up. But otherwise it works just fine. Plus, it folds up for easy storage.

I have used the coleman also. still have it. very hard to control temp if you are trying to bake. they work ok to keep food warm. might work better indoors out of the wind. I find a camp chef oven or a dutch oven works much better. highdesertranger

I agree about the Camp Chef Oven being the better choice than the Coleman Camp Oven. For one thing it's large enough to hold a 9x13 pan opposed to the 8x8 dinky Coleman. I'm getting pretty desperate to do some baking, and here in the cold snowy mountains of Colorado there is no way I would be able to use either one of these, either outside....or inside; http://www.amazon.com/Camp-Chef-COJR-Portable-Outdoor/dp/B0078U0BTA/ref=cm_rdp_product My problem is that the pilot in the Magic Chef oven in my RV doesn't seem to want to have a large enough flame to stay on.....not sure what the fix is, (yet), and so the frustration continues. Grr city! ~Scarlett

Baking can be done in a dutch oven on a stove top.

I really do think a Dutch oven would do the trick. Will keep that in mind when going off shore power, for sure. Then, I might tend to start thinking in terms of solar oven. But guess what? My new found love affair with my thrift shop Hamilton Beach Crock Pot yielded a pleasant new surprise, I CAN bake bread, brownies, rolls and many other things in my crock pot. Today I baked Rhodes frozen cinnamon rolls and they browned and came out hot and beautiful just in time for my son to come home from work on this frosty day. Frosted them with the cream cheese frosting that came with them. http://www.rhodesbread.com/blog/blog/slow-cooker-rolls Yummy! ~Scarlett
