I will be in the seattle area until the end of september. If you get up this way before I leave, maybe we can get coffee somewhere. I don't know sign language, but I have a big tablet.

Welcome to the family. Enjoy your travels. Perhaps we will cross paths sometime. I'm in washington state hoping to head south soon. Sid.

Look me up on your way south, I'm in Northern California right now, will be heading north to Seattle eventually, and then south for the winter

Sounds good. Last time I went to Seattle it took me a month from the Bay Area. Chances are I won't get there by the end of September, but who knows, I have motivation this time, my sister lives there and I haven't spent time with her in a long time, and I'd really like to!

With Love,
Tara

Hey Tara! I am so in love with ASL and hope maybe you would be willing to help me learn more of it? I had been intending to take a class this fall at the community college, but had to pass that up when I drove to Texas.

I have had some experience with ASL over the years, very informal in bits and pieces....teaching a deaf street kid some basic stuff, my brothers girlfriend, stuff like that. My best experience was a class I took at the hospital in basic "medical sign language". It was taught by an instructor from the Scranton School for the Deaf. During a class exercise one day he went around the room asking each student to sign a word he gave them. When he got to me, he said "sign all the words on that poster on the wall". Without thinking, I told him (in sign) "f**k you". He gave me an A+ for the course just on the basis that I had learned to blurt out in sign language! I was so proud of that :)

So what do you say? Can you recommend what I can do since I missed this class?

Howdy Tara form WA state! (I am currently in Moses Lake, but am often in Seattle visiting friends).

Thanks sweetie! I will get busy refreshing and expanding my vocab. When we get together you can teach me the fine art of putting those signs into conversations!
