So been searching for over 2 months researching I been living out a car for over a year and time to upgrade to more room and comfy

But seems like there's a grey area on reviews of the sprinter 3500 extended high roof one I'm look at has fully rebuilt engine that's has 100k heads turbo etc all rebuilt or new trans is slipping but I wouldn't mind either rebuilding my self and or buy rebuilt with warranty it's partially already converted but walls floor insulation solar lines ran and 110v alc unit roof mount etc selling for 6k but haven't negotiated the price so will be lower

My only other option is 150k miles Chevy Express extended and has few upgrades like radio back cam and dual optima battery really nice selling for 4k

I know the reliability of Chevy van and work on the engines and trans before

But sprinter is interesting and bigger and would be a cool build as well as far as stealth it's kinda stealth being white but not as stealthy as express

Thank you

I really want to like the sprinters, but a couple of hours on the sprinter forum makes that tuff.

I also vote for the Chevy. A no brainer for me.

Sprinter forums full of complaints and reliability issues. Chevy express forums full of praise and happy owners. They are tried and true

A vehicle that supposedly can go 500,000 miles needs an engine rebuild after 100 K should tell you how reliable they really are.The person that spent a fortune on rebuilding was so disgusted with the vehicle that did not want to put another thousand or two in it?

Buying German engineering is like having a pickpocket. While you are patting yourself on the back you don't feel your wallet being pulled out.

Spending 30 min on the Sprinter Forum was enough to get me to look at other options. It wasn't just the reliability issues. It was finding someone that can fix it. I ended up with the Ford Transit and I know that I can take it to almost any mechanic in the country and they can work on it. Same with the Chevy's.
