Aside from planning on supporting the reopening of my favorite dive bars in Waikiki, I also used half my stimuli to purchase a PS inverter, the remote unit for it, an Li4 power pack, an 18v, 100 amp folding solar panel charger, 2, 2 branch MC4 to SAE connector cables, and 2 obnoxious T shirts. I STILL have half leftover to give Suzy Wong's a healthy dose of business - hope they bring back the taco truck parked by it too or it's the 7/11 around the corner (7/11s in Hawaii are MUCH better food wise than here on the mainland).

Cheers!

Still waiting on mine. The first two came quickly.

The buzz says tomorrow should be another disbursement by DD and after that checks will be mailed.

Can I just relate that, while, at the micro level all this largess falling from the sky is very happily received by moi, but at the macro level I find it rather disconcerting and doesn't, IMHO, bode well at all for the economy and the future stability of the nation...? Free money literally materializing in my bank account? Nothing good is going to come out of this in the end is what the little voice in my head is telling me (it's also telling me I shouldn't have thrown away all those old Marvel comic books that had just 1 digit on the cover.) Just sayin...

Cheers.

My guess is higher taxes & interest rate hikes, followed by inflation. Naturally I am on a fixed income for this one.

If you're on disability(like me) , or railroad beneficiary payments or whatever you're supposed to get your 3rd stimulus check by the 7th of April.

If you're a veteran you still have to wait for "soon".

Craziness.

I'll be getting a new starter battery and be able to pay for my permanent tag. My 45 days temp tag expired mid march.

My savings, 2nd stimulus, and half of March's check paid for my new van, but it's no longer drivable. In other words status quo for my luck.

Once it's back on the road I'm taking a much needed vacay in it somewhere without running water or electricity.

After that I'll start my minimal build.

They seem to have first issued this third round of payments to those eligible who are working or otherwise file a tax return.

I don’t understand that, really, and know that many of those living just on SS or SSI have been waiting impatiently for their money.

That said, the families of the working poor in this country have received life-altering injections of funds they can put to very good use, and I am happy for them.

Been there, done that, and I know what a difference that kind of lump sum would have made for us.

I got my Biden Bucks! WhooHooo!

Immediately deposited then immediately spent!

Easy come, easy go...felt good while it lasted.

Are you on SSA? Maybe mine is in my account already. It would be nice. I have 47 cents to my name, and a parked van with an expired tag.

yes.  no i haven't received mine yet either  :(  i'm down to 10 bucks.   But i still have a roof over my head and plenty of food & a pot to pee in

and part of me wants to hit the road when i get it....tired of thinking about it.

I hope you get yours soon. April 7th is supposed to be the date for SSA recipients.

I've got food and a place to sleep, just no wheels. Kinda disheartening seeing as I just got my first vehicle in about 5 years last month.

I'm with you on trying not to think about it. I've been way to plugged in killing time. I've rebinged a few of my favorite shows.

Thanks...i have a lot of anxiety wondering what i will do when i get it....haha...so far the practical side of me has been winning.....i haven't done anything crazy in a long time...or maybe what i am doing now is crazy....i drive myself crazy wondering....

what's going on with your van ????

Spent a little bit on some very good artisanal incense from India. :)

 which one ?   Nag Champa ?

Actually one of them is a Nag Champa, Nag Champa Gold.  Company used to export it was called Happy Hari, it's something else now.  Absolute Bliss carries it, or should have some more soon anyway.  Also Exotic Incense but I don't know if he currently has it in stock either.  The Nag Champa by Satya Sai Baba in the blue box used to be my favorite and then around 2010 they reformulated it and took out most or all of the halmaddi resin.  Nag Champa Gold has at least some in it, it smells excellent anyway.

The other one is called Forbidden Fruit but the guy who imports it renamed it, the creator called it Sweetness and I still call it that.  I don't know how to explain the scent of that one but think kind of a sweet cedar mixed with a little good pipe tobacco.

Wow...I didn’t know that ( reformulation)
Why do they always have to reformulate things... I’ll have to check out the Nag Champa Gold now ...the Sweetness sounds nice...I’ve been into frankincense & myrrh all winter...got 2 different batches... both smell exquisite...

Frankincense and myrrh are excellent for winter.

Reformulations.  Most perfumes are reformulated at some point and all vintage perfumes have been reformulated  a lot, some of them don't even smell like the originals at all.  The first time I noticed this was years ago, in the late 70s.  I bought a bottle of Opium the same day it was released.  That bottle lasted a good long time.  When I bought my next one I'm like, wait a minute.  This doesn't smell right.  The Opium now doesn't smell anything like the original.

Yes... I’m a perfume freak too...so sad they are all reformulated...I will never waste my money on vintage again either....I’ve been sticking with essential oils more ... my fav’s being myrrh, frankincense & sandalwood...myrrh is my signature fragrance for many years... hard to find one I love though... Song of India makes the ones I love most....one drop of Nag Champa oil could knock you out... I have a bottle that will last a lifetime.....
