<p>Hi All,&nbsp;<br /><br />Just wanted to introduce myself.&nbsp; I can't imagine why it took me so long to land here!&nbsp; I follow Bob's blog, website, and have read his book twice (so far).&nbsp; Anyway.... better late than never.&nbsp; <br /><br />A little background.&nbsp; I'm a former backpacker and trailer-owner and I think about travel all the time.&nbsp; Until 9&nbsp;months ago, my future was settled.&nbsp; I was supposed to retire in 10 years from the teaching job that I loved.&nbsp; Then I lost my job.&nbsp;So much for plans!&nbsp;<br /><br />I had long been wanting&nbsp;to find a small RV&nbsp;so I could travel, squeezing in the occasional week during school breaks.&nbsp;&nbsp;Right after&nbsp;my unexpected job loss, I&nbsp;figured&nbsp;<em>the time is now</em>.&nbsp; So we sold our high-maintenance house, bought a small condo, and ....&nbsp;I found a great gently-used Roadtrek&nbsp;in August.&nbsp; <br /><br />My first outing was 1 night, then 1 week, then 2 weeks.&nbsp; I can't wait to get back out for a really extended trip, maybe a couple of months this next time.&nbsp; I love&nbsp;being on the road in my van more than I even imagined.&nbsp; My new dream is to&nbsp;travel part-time while teaching onlline.&nbsp; Why not?&nbsp; <br /><br />My DH of 29 years and I have a great life here at home&nbsp;but I get restless.&nbsp; It's hard to him to get away but I am so fortunate that he gives me the time, space, and support I need to do what makes me happy.&nbsp; No question about it, I'm lucky in a lot of ways.<br /><br />I love my rig and I'm excited about the future again.&nbsp; <br /><br />I have a travel blog with the link below if anyone wants to follow along.&nbsp; I look forward to delving into the forum posts.&nbsp; I have a lot to learn from you all!<br /><br />&nbsp;</p>
