I was only going to rent this spring & summer to have a chance to test some out in case I find a way to buy one. Just a chance to get out and take the grands camping.
 
About four years ago, I rented a Class B from a large dealer in a mid-sized city. $225/day BASE cost.
 
I can’t do my own work and I have a CRV which I bought new. I had the seats pulled out (including front passenger)and for next to nothing had a wooden floor built with room for storage underneath. It’s not as roomy as I’d like ( I’d love a class B) but I know it won’t break down. It’s quite comfortable and if you do the same you can sleep inside the car (I do stealth) and save money towards something else.
