Mount the plug in on the drivers side just aft of the driver's door. That way you can't ignore the cord hanging off the side of the van.

First time I have ever seen a 13 amp 110-120 VAC cord.
Since every outlet with that configuration is by specification rated for 15 amps.
Since it is probably made in China, who knows?

I was able to manage ignoring it in that position.....  :-(

I have managed to ignore four white tire covers after doing a walk around the vehicle.

I have mot yet tried to drive away with the wrap around windshield cover in place.

There might have been a time where I only noticed the cord was in place as I reflexively checked the side mirror as I engaged the tranny.

I have thought about using flags, but that would require remembering to put the flags in place.

I'm not sure I'm picturing what you're describing, but the idea of something more durable is always appealing. Please do go on.

Use a residential electrical box on the inside, drill mounting holes to match those of the exterior. Use the same mounting bolt to affix both.  Do insure that there is no electrical contact with the mount.

By box I’m referring to what you mount a standard receptacle or light switch to. A 2 gang, double wide, would give you more mount space. How far the exterior plug goes inside is also a factor and you might need to cut a matching hole.
