I was taking out my diamond earrings and dropped one on the RV floor. My little dog ran over and showed me where it had landed. She's so smart! OK, she probably thought I had dropped some food, but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt on this one.

What have your smart dogs (or cats or other pets) done lately?

You own diamond earrings and live in an RV? But why don't you sell them and rent an apartment...!?!

Kidding.

I have a story to share;

My Border Collie and I went backpacking to a new area and he always runs out in front to scout the area while I drag our gear slowly behind him. We went off the road in an attempt to find a nice spot by the river below, but it turned into a pretty trecherous path... 20 minutes or so had gone by and I hadn't seen my pooch, so I called for him, but no response. I waited and called again but heard nothing. I started to get nervous and then down-right scared. I thought the worst: he got lost, he fell into the river, he found a new man to feed him!!!

So I decided to backtrack hoping he found my scent and was looking for me. As I went along, I left my cap, then my neckercheif, then jacket. Sort of a scented bread crumb trail in case he wondered where I ran off to.

To get to the point, I made it all the way back to the van a couple miles back. He was patiently waiting for me and jumped up to greet me and ask what took me so long...

Life would be very different without my best friend.

-Noah

My mini schnauzer is a softness detector. His royal rump is going to be upon the softest place available. He had been hanging out in the drivers seat and gives me a glare when I scoot him off. I finished reupholstering the new mattress for the bed/couch yesterday....washed the old upholstery...the works! I'm working on getting the van loaded so we can get going and I'm in and out a lot. The very next time I opened the door he had taken up residence on the new bed! His majesty had turned his nose up at it before this! Guess I did a good job...lol.

Thanks for sharing your stories. I know there are lots more pet people out there with great adventures.

Ha ha Noah! The earrings were a gift a few Christmases ago. I wear them every week, which shocks some people who think I should only wear them on special occasions or to special places.
