Hello I just joined this group
I bought a step van several years ago and have been useing it for storage.
I have decided to convert it to a RV
My step van is old maybe in late sixties. It is a ford six cyl with four speed transmission
16 foot bed.
I have three old campers to remove parts from for the build of the van, heaters, a/c , lights converters
Inverters and much moor
Please tell me what you think

Check the load capacity first thing as well as the price of insurance. Some were designed for city deliveries and don’t have much top end speed as well so check that also. Then decide if it will be good to do what you want. If you have questions about what you find out ask as there are a few here with lots of experience.

Welcome to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

RV heaters are very inefficient. They are power hogs. What are you planning as far as power? highdesertranger

Lets see some pictures! (I have nothing useful to add, but would like to see what it looks like)

yea some pics

but if your van is in good shape and you are happy with that... you can rummage thru old campers and use all that stuff....you got yourself a fun build I would think. You asked what I think....sounds good to me :) Just use your smarts and go for it all as you want it. You are lucky you have all that stuff at your disposable....save some bucks! Cool
