Saving for a van

My wife and I are seeking good boondocking/free places to stay on the west coast. We want to travel from Seattle to San diego. We will be on an extremely tight budget.....cheap food places that are unique? I already know about Wal-marts but want to do something diferent if possible. I'm excited to see Seattle since I've never been. Any info would be great! Thanks for reading!

I'm sure you'll get more replies here with ideas and suggestions, but you can also do a "search" for keywords on this forum. Maybe search for "Seattle" for example.

Also, Tony and Karen have a blog that is stupendous for info on sights to see, campgrounds and also boondocking places. What's most wonderful is that Karen is sooooo organized and queen of using Google maps to plot their travels for others to learn from. Here is a link to their blog:

On the Home page you will see in the right column that you can click on a state and find Karen's posts that included info on that state .. OR... you can click on the My Google Maps link in that right column and then scroll down on the map page for another list of states. Click the state you want and you'll see a map with pushpins of their stops.

You can spend hours, days or weeks with the info they generously provide.
