Good news. The San Diego City Council this week unanimously decided to repeal the 35-year-old ban after local advocates described it as part of vicious cycle that targets the city’s poorest residents.

This applies to the City of San Diego, not the entire county. And there's still a ban on on-street parking of oversized vehicles (RVs) overnight, but those in vans or smaller should be okay. There are various off-street city lots that bigger rigs could use.

Thank you, MrNoodly, and thank you San Diego. That's pretty progressive, and maybe it will set a precedent for other cities.

Good news

Hooray!!! the city of San Diego has woken up and humanized itself by showing some compassion. That you for posting the news, it truly did brighten my day.

Criminalizing homelessness was never going to help eradicate it.
