Has anybody replaced their van factory windows with ones that slide? I've been searching and only found one place that had the correct size and they no longer carried them. I'd even be happy with pop-outs. Do they make aftermarket ones?
One more thing. If I can't find sliders for the windows, can I use horse trailer (or something like it) sliding windows and install them in the fiberglass hightop? I've got an 87 Econoline. I'm just trying to get more air circulation for my pups. Thanks for any info.

I have a short slider in my conversion van. Lots of those around.

You might start looking through wrecking yards to see what is in there.

You can custom order windows from any lumber yard. Places that sell overstock building materials are also a good place to check.

the solar fan idea would work real well with a modified clothes dryer outlet...and wouldnt create structure problems..........something to think about!

also windows from a camper or RV come in assorted sizes with slides and can be found in almost all wrecking yards.....conversion vans are also in abundance in wrecking yards....well worth the look to find stuff for modifications on the cheap!!!!

Greetings!

I vote for wrecking yards too. You might even be able to search some on-line...

Cheers!

I've been searching wrecking yards online but they don't list the parts I need. Seat base is not an option much less swivel seat base. Windows are listed but only for the front and side door. I'm not apposed to wandering around a junkyard, I've done it before. I'll do a search for nearby ones.
I checked the thread for solar fan and the one from Amazon is out of stock and has very low ratings. I saw things about computer fans and vents and honestly, I'm not really sure what I need. I'll search some more and maybe a lightbulb will go off

For the kind of stuff you're looking for, you probably shouldn't be dealing with regular junkyards. There are junkyards that specialize in salvaging RVs.

Do a google search on "RV junkyards".

The single best source of RV and camper windows is ebay. I know that sounds weird but there are a million of them on there. When I needed windows to install in my cargo trailer when I was converting it I searched ebay for "camper windows" or RV windows" and there were unlimited choices of both new and used.

I found the perfect ones, ordered them and I've been very happy with them for 3 years now.

Thanks Bob, I looked on E-Bay and found several that would work for the hightop. Now if it would just stop raining....
