I was doing some just-for-fun research tonight and stumbled across this. Renogy has dropped their lithium-ion battery price considerably, and seems to have introduced a new model since I was last in the market. (As best I recall, their 100-watt-hour units used to be about $900.) No, it's not as cheap as do-it-yourself options, lead acid, or things like prism cells. But still, it's a significant drop. I'm sorely tempted, to be honest.

That's what I paid for my Battle Borns. They are wonderful but the pay back is so long. I've had mine for 300 days so that's still $5 a day. Not cheap at all. But they get cheaper every day. After 600 days they'll be down to under $3 a day. At 1600 days they'll be a buck a day. Dang I hope they last.

The Chinese web site Alibaba has the best prices. Shipping takes a while. I hear alibaba is also good for e-bikes.
