you've got your private messages disabled.

Now take that hand and with your pointer finger (either one, it doesn't matter) and click on control panel above.

Scroll down to the "Preferences" menu and click on "yes" to enable a member to send you a private message.

You can also allow members to send you an email without revealing your email (I think)
Bless your heart, cyndi, for bringing this up! I didn't know how to make that change...and everyone notice that you also need to click the little "Update" icon so your change will be saved.

I'm still mystified about how to "Operate" the chat corner too.
ah, yes, tinkerbell! couldn't for the life of me figure out what that little ting-a-ling was.

i think you just click on the little box in the lower right corner. you can change it to appear "online" or "offline". start typing there.

Yes, you can hide your email from others it says. I double check to make sure I'm able to receive messages. Thanks

Hopefully this 5-year-old instructional can be updated to include people who use a mouse instead...

Raise your hand if your Private Messages is activated, but you didn't know it, and you never noticed the pile of unread messages.
