If you do wilderness boondocking, and like using solid fuels, this little stove idea is quick, cheap and compact.  Found this on a camping site and thought y'all would like it too.  Uses three strap hinges, a screw and a wingnut.

Pretty slick trick, huh LeeRevell.? I 1st learned of it from the Backwoodsman magazine a couple of years ago. Glad to see it on YouTube. Thanks for sharing!

just a reminder until you burn all of the plating off those hinges they are producing highly toxic fumes when you put heat to them. even if you are up wind and not breathing the fumes the toxic heavy metals are getting in your food with that open fry pan. this is a classic example of don't believe everything you see on the internet. here is a tip, never heat anything that is not purposely made for heating, never heat anything plated unless specifically made for that purpose, never use old refrigerator grates for bbq grills. highdesertranger

Yup. Good idea until you factor the heavy metal poisoning he is getting. Best case scenario is he is burning the zinc plating off them. More likely it is cadmium or something worse.
