Hi everyone my boyfriend and I are new to the RV living. We have a Toyota Tacoma that we will be making livable this weekend. We were wondering though what type of bed to get... We living in Florida and dont want something that will be too hot (we dont want to wake up in puddles of sweat!) but we also want something comfortable and durable.

Any suggestions as to mattresses or sleeping arrangements??

Also, does anyone know about the laws for sleeping in your truck in Florida?

Since its just a pick up with a topper we plan on being pretty stealthy but we dont want to draw attention or get ticketed.

Please let us know!

Thanks!
-Ay and Jay
I 'live' in SW FL.
In Florida, it is ILLEGAL to be homeless, or to sleep in your vehicle, or to park your vehicle overnight is parking lots or to help the homeless or to feed the homeless. FL is one of several states to have very strict (and very many laws) against the homeless.
Bottom Line : DON'T GET CAUGHT BEING HOMELESS HERE.
One or more of the following five features must be observed in order to make an arrest: “numerous items of personal belongings are present; the person is engaged in cooking activities, the person has built or is maintaining a fire, the person has engaged in digging or earth-breaking activities, or the person is asleep and needs to be awakened, or states that he or she has no place to live.”

Google "homeless in FL" or "illegal to be homeless in FL". You will find lots of videos, web pages, etc. from many different sources. Cops/Sheriffs here are brutal (and get away with doing whatever they want) to 'homeless' people. So just be as stealth as possible

Since the state depends on income from tourists and snowbirds - even more so since the economy tanked - Florida is very strict on what they allow to be publicized. Unless you live here - you really have no idea about the insanely high crime or the huge homeless populations.
Or that FL has one of the highest sex offender populations in the USA.
(so if you find yourself traveling without your bf, be aware and use sense when sleeping/parking in your vehicle)
