Hello all. Thanks for clicking here. I have the opportunity to buy a 99 Ford conversion e350 Tritan with 170,000 miles on it. Does anyone know how long they can last? And it's for 2200$ do you think I should offer 1500$? any reply i appreciate a ton

Welcome to the CRVL forums Florida Peach! Can't answer your questions but I'm sure someone here will be able to give you some help.

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

I'm driving a 99 e150 with the Triton in it and it's been well maintained. I currently have 213.000 miles on it and it's just as strong as ever. 2000 if there's no rust or leaks in the engine or transmission is a great price you can try for 1500 but if it is solid haggle for a while and if you get it for 1800 don't feel bad you still won!
The only I strongly urge you to check is steering box. Make sure that the frame around it is solid and doesn't have cracking or rust holes. Then have someone turn the wheels as you watch the steering box. There should be NO movement with the box. They have been known to break the three mounting bolts and that results in no steering. Yeah it's happened. I'm a certified welder so I added steel plates around the frame to beef up the box. I also bought new grade eight bolts for the box and it's working perfectly. Besides if you are going to boondock the added strength is a good idea because the roads can get quite rutted that causes stress on the steering.
Hope this helps you.
Don't let a few additional tweeks scare you away from buying a van Because they will all need something to boondock it's just because they are built for street use and to off road in safety and comfort a little extra upgrading is always money well spent.
Getting towed or doing repairs in the boonies is either expensive or very time consuming waiting for parts then getting them installed. I've never broken down in an idelic location overlooking streams and Meadows. It's usually on a hill or in a curve in a switchback ravine. Lol. They are a great platform for your build remember your building the whole van not just the interior. And an ounce of prevention...
Good luck with your deal.
Beeps.

I sold a 96 E350 last month that had 219,000 miles on it and it ran great.  The lady who bought it already had an E350 and she was tickled to death with it.  It had been maintained and that's the most important thing.  Mine had the 5.8 V8.  I sold it for $1500.  I didn't like the way it drove because I'm used to a Chevy pickup.  The pickup is easier for me to get in and out of too.
