I don't have a desk yet, so I sit on the cooler at the foot of the bed. To keep the laptop from overheating, I've been propping it up on a couple books, till yesterday.
I found some leftover PVC pipe pieces from another project and made this handy dandy laptop stand. I like the way the keyboard slants and the unit stays reasonably cool.
It folds fairly flat and hangs nicely on the steering wheel too.

Bindi, I made a very similar rack for my iPad to be mounted on the steering wheel.

Really like this idea and might make one myself!

I find using Instructables is handy. I just search for what ever I want under the category of "Everything". Very handy.
This is what a search for "PVC laptop stand" turns up!
