I'm looking for a small propane stove that I can use for some baking, making a full sized pizza, and some other small meals. I mostly use the oven for pizza but I do like my brownies. I figure that I'll need to use propane for some things so figured I'd make this one of them to save energy. So any good stoves you can think of? Don't need some big thing. Hoping it doesn't eat a lot of propane either.

PS Can I lay the propane canister on it's side or does it need to stand up?

OVENS!!!! NOT STOVES!!! OVENS!!!

Camp Chef, Stansport, Coleman all make combo oven/2 burner stove.
Brinkman makes an oven only.
No full size pizza....maybe 10" personal size.

Google 'camping oven', click images, takes your choice.

For larger try Camping World or similar rv supply for Atwood or similar RV home style range.

Propane needs to stand vertical....(i'm assuming you mean the small green 1 pounders, or standard BBQ 20 pounder)

For cheap , maybe you can find one salvaged from an RV ?
Mine is about a 24" cube. Stove and oven. How big is "full sized pizza" in your world?
I can measure mine but certain at least 12"-14" maybe 16"
(Possible option::: I use my 10" cast iron dutch oven on top of a small 8" cast iron fry pan on a stove top or campfire with good results !)

Web search RV Salvage Yards or local yards if you still want a full oven......

I mean the big 20 ponder ones. Also I plan on using a induction cook top, so looking for oven only.

You'd want the 20-pound (or even the 1-pound) tanks upright.  Various LP appliances run off of LP vapor, not the straight liquid.  I'm honestly not sure what would happen if you dumped the liquid portion of an LP tank into a LP appliance... either it'll blow up or maybe some kind of safety system would block it.

Bob made a video where he's talking about his favorite gear, and an oven is included.  It does run off of an LP stove (or any other similar heat source), so you won't be able to use your induction cooktop.  I'm not sure you're going to be able to get away from LP if you want to run an oven.

Bob's video (go to 9:47 to see where he talks about the oven):

ooops.....forgot about this one.

How about a large ammo can to put on top of a propane stove? Would have to get a grill and cut it down to fit inside of the can. might want to burn the paint off.

I have both style of solar oven, the sport oven could do a larger rectangular pizza. I haven't had the chance to use the Sunflair but it takes up much less room. On a sunny day it isn't what can you cook, it's what do you want to cook. ( no deep frying, too messy)

The trailer has a standard RV stove top and oven. It took some getting use to but I love to slow cook a roast or rack of ribs on a cool cloudy day. I also like fresh bread no matter what oven I use. RV ovens are not as large as most household ovens.

Are there no propane toaster ovens?

I think I'd go for a combo unit had the trailer not had its own. A toaster over would need a heat source top and bottom or you will have to flip the bread.

From what I've gathered, a good induction cook top doesn't take much power from a battery bank. I'm pretty sure a electric toaster oven takes a lot of power. Similar to a microwave. If I'm wrong then awesome!

I'm planning on using a toaster oven in my final build because it doesn't use that much power.  If your setup can handle an induction cooktop, then it can handle a regular toaster oven.

I put a Kill-a-watt meter on my toaster oven the other day and tested it out.  I use my toaster oven for virtually all of my "oven" needs.  It uses ~1,500 watts when the element is on, but it's not on all the time.  If you set it to 400° and leave it on for a half hour, I think it's only running the element maybe half of the time, or less.

If you don't have a kill-a-watt and you're still planning your rig, I highly recommend getting one.  They'll tell you how much power your appliances are actually using.  Really handy.

I've been looking for something like this! Will help me list the amount of power used daily.

you can make pizza in a frying pan, I have a recipe somewhere google stove top pizza you basically put all the ingredients including dough into the pan put the lid on and wait. I have never tried it but it looked good on the web.
I like the gimbled marine ovens, the stainless steel ones, they are on my wish list, I currently have a two burner stove no oven, When I first moved into my Kurbmaster through ignorance I installed a borrowed 20# propane bottle on it's side, I was told at one point that it would not work or that I would not be able to get all the propane out of it, it seemed to work ok, I used it like that for a whole summer, before switching to 5lb bottles and installing them upright

heating anything with electricity is very inefficient. doesn't matter if you are using 12v or 120v. highdesertranger
