Does anyone think this is a cool product? It's called the Privacy Pop bed tent. I'm thinking of maybe using this outside the van while at a camp site during warm summer nights. I would simply unfold/uncollapse this bed tent, and place a mattress inside for comfort. When folded/collapsed, this thing measures approx 28" circular diameter and about 2" thick. Comes in Twin/XL and Full sizes. This thing is waaaaay easier to assemble and disassemble compared to a traditional tent.

I imagine this bed tent can also be used inside a van as well for additional insulation to keep warmer maybe??

See links below. It's actually cheaper price to order directly from the manufactuer from the 2nd link below.

http://www.amazon.com/Privacy-Pop-Bed-Tent-TWIN/dp/B008JKMWMC

http://www.privacypop.com/

http://www.zagg.com/community/blog/...bedroom-tent-like-when-you-were-a-little-kid/

its cool looking but i don't think it would be very functional, the only time I could see using it personally is if there was a mixed group of people and we were all sleeping in one big tent

Looks like it is only designed for indoor use. Hope it doesn't rain or have a heavy dew when you use it. Also, doesn't seem to have any mosquito netting.

I don't know about using outside in another tent.....but I am using it in my Ford E350 extended... and it is GREAT.... you can enclose it fully for warmth on a cool/cold night... or you can open it up and leave it for breeze from open windows on a HOT night. Also, it eliminates the need for curtains (unless you want them for the décor)... cause you get all the privacy you want inside....

I'm building a van so I can AVOID setting up a tent, bedding etc. and INCREASE the comfort while camping.
That product does none of those things for me.
If I was going to carry a tent in the van, it would be my lightweight 10x10 pop-up shelter or my 9'x14' Core tent that I could set up adjacent to the van for extended stays in one place. These both allow "porch" space to keep my motorcycle, chairs, etc under cover and provide some sheltered space to stand up full height to stretch and change clothes (I'm 6'6").

I like it! I see your vision for this.

Another thing you could do is put some longer legs on it (PVC pipe), put the bed up to the sliding door and make it an additional room that attaches to the side of your slider. This gives you sleeping arrangements accessible from your van. If it doesn't quite fit, you could secure some black out fabric to attach from tent to inside the rig. If you carry a couple lengths of PVC pipe, you can accommodate differences in the terrain.

I don't know where you're camping this winter, but not every place gets super cold at night. If it does where you are, simply add some insulation under the bed.
