Hello everyone!  I have been reading posts off and on for about year as I finished school.  Well I am done and am in the process of converting my 2000 Ford Econoline E-250 cargo van into my residence.  I have removed the bins and the flooring that came with the van.  I have used some paint on bed liner after cleaning away rust that I found on the inside to help with further deterioration.  There is some minor rust repair work that I am going to have done to the outside to prevent further damage down the line.  In addition I am going to have an insulation company inspect my vehicle and let me know if they can apply closed cell spray foam insulation.  For my flooring I have chosen to go with some reflective to fill out the grooves if needed, then use plastic sheeting with caulk to create a moisture barrier, followed by cork underlayment, and finally laminate flooring to finish the floor.  While I have done some research on my own, I have yet to ask seasoned vandwellers about my plans.  Depending on whether or not the spray foam insulation company can accommodate my needs I will use foam insulation to insulate the sides and roof.  I suppose I'm hoping to get some feedback on what I have planned so far before I get too far ahead of myself. I am trying to plan ahead, but not too far ahead so that I can adapt to unforeseen circumstances.  If there are any fellow vandwellers in or around the Fox Valley area in Northeast Wisconsin that can offer advice or assistance, please let me know!  Thank you all for your time and I look forward to meeting you on my travels!

Sincerely,

Michael

Welcome to the CRVL forums Michael! In case you haven't checked it out previously, here is some information to help you learn the ins and outs of these forums; this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. If you include some photos of your van, that's always helpful to get some feedback. We look forward to hearing more from you.

:) Congratulations :)

That's so exciting. Will you stay in Wisconsin for the winter or will you be on the road most of the time?

Don't forget we love photos.

All the best in your new adventure.
