Friend saw in Costco a box of powdered eggs $6.97
Wildroots Wholeegg Powder 2lb 4 oz; 6-6oz pouches; = 78 eggs
Friend made this morning and reported by text... “used in a good no stick pan but still some sticking. Will have to work on this”

So guessing might need to jazz up with onions, bacon, cheese and on.

Recipes on box for smoothie, crepes and a cheese, egg muffin sized bites (no flour)

I use Honeyville whole powdered eggs brand to make breakfast burritos. however I cut them 1/2 and 1/2 with real eggs to make scrambled eggs for the burritos. I can't tell. I also use them to cook/bake with. I won't use non-stick cookware it's stainless or cast iron for me, I don't notice them sticking any more than regular eggs.

you know properly seasoned cast iron and stainless are naturally non-stick. no funny stuff needed.

I don’t use non stick either.
Will pass on info about 1/2 real eggs. Thanks

good question. I started doing it that way many years ago because people would freak out if I just used powdered eggs. actually I would sneak them in so they wouldn't even see me add them. when people didn't know they would say nothing but if someone found out they would complain and say they tasted funny. I would tell them they had been eating them for a week and they wouldn't believe me. some people are funny. anyhow I just got in the habit of doing it that way and continue to this day. I always have fresh eggs with me because I like fried, poached, soft/hard boiled eggs too. highdesertranger

I never even knew there was such a thing as powdered eggs until I saw this thread!  Wow.  I don't think I'd want to try them.

$3.10/pound is a superb price - thanks Firtree! :)

In comparison, Honeyville whole eggs are $7/pound... when bought by the 50 LB box.
Augason Farms whole eggs are currently about $12.50/pound at both Walmart & Amazon (in a 2 pound #10 can).

Supposedly one pound powdered is equal to about 3 dozen regular eggs, so that's attractive even compared to the price of regular eggs.

So far, I have not had any difficulty finding regular eggs at ok prices (between about a buck & a quarter and a buck & a half) even out in the sticks/food-dessert of northern WI/MI, however I do carry powdered eggs as a backup, and (in s&b) have used them when baking with good results.

When I had my engine failure, and no transportation for a few weeks, I did use powdered eggs a lot, and was very glad to have them. :)

Bottom line: For any (serious) aspiring boondocker & shelf stable food novice with a Costco membership, this would be a wise purchase to get your feet wet. :)

Firtree, I couldn't find these in my local Costco. Would you happen to have their product code? Thanks.............

Concerned this is a regional or test item, but demand can change that
Trying to get photo of package attached

Is it a bag, box, or can?
That looks like a box - thanks for the pic. :)

What's Costco's current policy for non-members?
It used to be that a member could give non-members a gift card that could be used in store. Members could also order stuff online and have it sent directly to a non-member.

Box with 6 bags inside. It is not 25 year food.

I don’t know if these eggs are in all stores. Box says a Seattle company and we live in PNW so maybe a local product or a regional test item.
This is such a deal and great item IMO that by showing the box and UPC hoping people will request in their local stores.

Our store is a small Costco and does not have the selection of another store 50 miles away. I’ve also learned there can be regional items and regional additional sales. I was quite surprised to see the eggs in our store.

As far as the cash cards and shipping to others, I’ll check more.

For our purposes, that's much better. :)
I don't want to lug something around for 25 years, I want to have enough for backups, in manageable "lot" sizes.
That's a baker's dozen in each bag/pouch, which can be easily consumed while it's at its peak freshness. :)
I hate having to open a #10 can (6+ dozen "eggs"), and much prefer smaller pouches. :)

Great find - thanks & keep stuff like this coming (I love split pea & ham soup)! :)
