Hello,

Not sure if y'all will know about this but thought I might ask...

I am looking to get a small portable solar panel (~15w) and a portable external battery for PC, phones, etc.  This is something I could use not only for van travel but also camping, hiking, etc.  (I'm not living on the road full time yet)

I can find decent panels.  I can find nice external batteries.  Sadly I have not found an external battery that is chargeable via USB so I cannot make a set.

Anyone done this?  I have to believe it's possible.

Thanks

Here are all the options.

I would go with a larger, cheaper, and much more capable system using a 100ah deep cycle battery, and a cheap generator to charge it.

An inverter generator will both charge your battery and give you house style current if you decide you need it, and give you a combination that you will find useful for many different things, camping or not.

he said he wants to use it for hiking too. kinda hard to do that with a generator. the one Got smart linked to is what he is looking for, I believe. highdesertranger
