I am a middle aged lady who has seen a fair amount of tragedy and struggle and who would like to escape a lifestyle that I no longer believe in. I’ve been researching tiny houses / nomadic living for 2 years now and am trying to get together the funds for my first vehicle purchase (and also to get rid of a few decades of “stuff”). I have some amount of fear about the future and am grateful for the knowledge and inspiration this site has to offer.

I am far past middle age - but - like you I researched tiny houses - but this just did not satisfy my desire to see more of the USA the snowbird dream you know - when I found this website on line I knew where I wanted to be - no more doubts for me - I am looking for a van - like you stuff to dispose of and the cheaprvliving community has made me feel so much better about my success at 81 years of age I plan to join the road trec in 2020 my only question is where to meet the tribe but will stay in such close touch I cannot miss them. Welcome to the CRVL forums CORME! Sorry for the late welcome. Somehow you slipped by us. :-D Please feel free to ask questions about anything and everything!

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Like you, I am a bit apprehensive about making this change in 2020! My plan is to try it out in the coming months on a local level in my minivan, just to make certain this will work for me as it is for so many already. I have always enjoyed camping and traveling, just didn't have the time during my working years in the rat race. Good luck to you and I sincerely hope it works for you as well. All my best to you and your future on the road.  :)

RV born. You can always meet up with people at the rtr or in one of the caravans. The caravans have been a great help to people starting out.
