Believe it or not I am seeking professional help,(no, not about posting videos) not a light subject, not sure midlife issues though I am past midlife just have nowhere to turn and this forum has been a constant in my life, i will figure it out thank you all.

My mother was mentally ill to the point of not being in touch with reality, as in, she sat in her chair and talked to / railed at her personal demons all day
Dad worked 2 full time jobs
So by the age of 12 i was the homemaker for the family I was born into, cooking, cleaning, etc
I was at the laundromat one day, washing clothes, and this lady, about Mom's age, went to praising me for being 'so mature' to wash my own clothes
When I corrected here "these are my family's clothes, not just mine" she was thunderghasted
"my boy would never do that"
"sure he would, all you gotta do is go insane and quit doing it for him. Hell ,you might not even need to go insane"
She didn't speak to me again the rest of the time I was there, though my tone had not been angry or bitter

If you let someone live off you free, they have little motivation to un-ass the couch
More people need to realize this

Hi Wagoneer, hope you are able to sort through what ever is ailing you.

My Dad passed away in 08 and I know somewhere, somehow subconsciously it's still affecting me and I think even my physical health. I sort of just buried the pain and kept on living. A family friend talked me into seeing a shaman to help with it and although I'm not sure I necessarily believe in some of the stuff they do....... but for whatever reason, it seems to be helping.....not sure if it's the Shaman end of it or just the fact it's the first time I opened up enough to talk about it and admit it's bothering me.

So with that being said, just the fact you're throwing this out there and admitting it, is a good first step to finding a resolution.

Like others have said, feel free to PM me. I burnt out a few years ago, not pretty. People like to point and blame, they are not in your shoes. I want those kind of people to feel the distress, but then I remember I am trying to be a better human, not a normal human.

Thanks for the info and second chance. This 1930's black and white features Cab Calloway and his band with Betty Boop, about an old man living in the Boondocks
watch the drummer about 6 minutes totally General audience kids will love it.
