This is wut happens when I'm feeling bored and helpful. A friend of mine has managed to get herself 'stuck' in a (crappy beige) camper in an RV park an REALLY needs to get on the road again. Well, she saw this '89 Triple E Regency class c MH with a 7.3 l IDI diesel (blown head gasket(s)) w. the following description:"Clean inside, 4 new tires, 4 new batteries, new skylight, new flooring, rebuilt transmission, solar panel, new microwave, sleeps 4, double sink. 7.3 Diesel engine needs repair." for $1000 CDN.
Well, she couldn't scrape up anywhere near enough cash (disability), so I said that I'd buy it, fix it up, and then sell it to here at cost. She could then sell her trailer and, once sold, pay me and move on in! I figure that, worse comes to worse, I can part it out for more than I bought it for or, having repaired/replaced the engine, could sell it for a hefty chunk of change. It's one sweet lookin' rig, mostly fibreglass, and insulated for Canadian winters, even having insulating foam applied under the floor. The tranny, besides being rebuilt, is a 4sp auto (3+ lockup TC).
Anyway, that's gonna be my new project, repairing the engine; just a sucker for punishment, I am. ..Willy.
