Hey All!

I'm starting to get a bit tight on how long I have before moving out of my current place. I'd rather get a van now than try to find somewhere new to live in the interim but rushing the purchase of a van seems a little silly. All that said, I've seen one I like in almost every way except for the fact that it's gray and not white. I'm working full time in the city and stealth was going to be a relative priority so I was wondering what you guys think. Hold out for a white cargo van or go for the one that is on offer?

Thanks,
Tom

It is difficult to find a tailor made used van. There may always be something that you don't find appealing. If you pass on the grey one, and you don't find one that suits you before your deadline, then what will you do? Life is a compromise.
We might be able to help you get it painted, https://vanlivingforum.com/Thread-My-eyes-My-eyes

There is also something called a vinyl wrap. They mostly use it for advertizing, but you can get it in any solid color you like. Basically it is wall paper for vehicles.

Or just repeat after me. I like grey, I like grey,..........

You could also paint accent stripes or patterns in your favorite color. Grey goes with pretty much everything. I really do hope everything works out well for you.

BTW How did you know that I am Polish? At least you didn't think I was a Red Neck, (sorry Red Necks, no offence intended).

Put a couple of orange cones on the front and rear bumpers and it does not matter what colour it is....

I think how you use the van is more supportive of stealth than the color of the van.

Especially in residential beighborhood.

I have been quite stealthy in a minivan for the last two months. I am quiet and don't use lights after dark.

Ha!

Good that there's a consensus on not having something that necessarily looks like a work van.

Any thoughts on the van itself? It's already insulated so the first thing I asked is how. If it's polyiso I might leave it in. If it's something else it might be messy to remove.

Danny; I was talking about Jackson *******. Or, I mean, yeah... I'm just very intuitive :D

Thanks guys. I've messaged the seller and will see what happens. If I get it I'll consider buying a few cans of paint from Home Depot and going all ******* on it like Danny suggested ;)

Opinions also very very much welcome:

If it all checks out, love it. Like the grey. It's classy. Contractor Stealth meets Urban Contractor Stealth.
*******, art, color, creativity....
Perhaps a magnetic sign. "GreyStone Remodeling, Fine Family Finishes Since 2001"  You can park in any neighborhood, upscale or down! What ya think? .... "Your dream is our color scheme"...
