I dreamed of living this lifestyle someday but never imagined I'd be unexpectedly forced into it.

I've got a vintage hatchback loaned from a friend that I'm trying to make comfortable enough to sleep in. Current living arrangements are hopscotching between friends and relatives who keep unexpectedly kicking me out due to their own stuff going on or else turning too abusive for me to stay there.

Disabled by severe chronic illness, I'm unable to adequately care for myself in even ideal situations and require specialized food, water, and sleeping arrangements as bare essentials. I'm still trying to process the shock of how my life has changed the past 2.5 weeks while scrambling to figure out logistics.

Hope to find community here. :shy:

Good luck to you Bitty, Seems like you face some huge challenges....

Welcome to the CRVL forums, Bitty! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

Seems you're in a pretty tough spot. I hope things work out for you.

suggestion......try your best to find your survival point and move up from there...

I understand the disabled part firsthand and had to work my way up to an RV to accommodate my demanding needs and find a comfort level to feel secure enough to keep life moving in the right direction....

my suggestion is to start looking for a clean dry Class C RV for starters or a Class A if cab over sleeping is not for you.........I understand money can be an issue ...But... there are ways allowing you to do it!!

stick with us Bitty and we might be able to move you in a good direction.....just stay positive!!!.......

Thanks for the replies and well wishes, everyone. :)

@Mike, I'm definitely working on upgrading my vehicle to one that's more livable, especially since I need to be able to sleep inside. Could you elaborate on "find[ing] your survival point"?

Hi Bitty,

I'm glad you found us here. I live out of my hatchback for up to 6 months at a time and may be able to help with ideas to make it more comfortable. Also, I have friends who have set up their older hatchbacks for living mobile and they might have even more ideas. Can you tell us the year, make, model of the car that you are borrowing?

I hope you find a buyer or get a good trade for your 5'er. You sound like you need something larger than a car. The best to you as you deal with these difficult circumstances.

Sure, started a new thread with that info and further details on how I'm set up so far. Suggestions welcome! I just found out I've got a stable place the next two nights so I have a chance to tackle things.
