Getting my head in gear to follow my heart on the road. I have set a deadline of Summer 2016. This should give me time to get my house, animals and other things in order. I don't even have a rig yet. Don't know exactly what I want, but I do know some of what I don't want. I am excited to be in my 50's with nothing really holding me back, to pack up and hit the road.
I welcome any ideas, tips or advice you feel like sharing. I figure by just putting it out there...the right RV will surface and all things will fall into place.
Thank you for input.
Happy Trails

Welcome to the forum! Good to plan, but don't over-think it; following your heart is good. Where are you located?

Best wishes...

Welcome to the forum. I tend to over analyze everything, but that's what I do. What works best for you depends on lots of factors, like what do you like to do? Personally, I go around to music festivals and such. Other people like to go to a remote spot and stay awhile, others are following work. It's been great for me!

Welcome Solobabe, good to see another 50-something joining the ranks, lol. Btw, after reading your post I was struck by how much that sounds like the ideas that have been coming together in my own head, even your 2016 ETD :D. I'm on a two-year plan myself (God willing and the creek don't rise), get some bills paid off, sell the house and head out west, can't wait, whoohoo! And this is a good place to start, the folks are really helpful and there's a ton of info, but fyi you might also find skoolie.net a good source of info if you've ever considered a bus conversion. Good luck and hope to see you on the journey ;?D

Welcome. When it comes to finding an RV be very careful. Often times they have water damage. Be VERY careful. Invest the money to have a qualified person inspect it closely if you are not able. Good luck to you.

OP: Welcome. The more specific you are about what you want to do the better the advice you can get.

PS. Please shut off the heavy black type font; it's quite unpleasant to read.

Welcome solobabe58, you have come to the right place...

If you can afford it, I'd consider renting a RV and taking trips in it to get the feel for it.
