Hey everyone in CheapRVLiving land.  I'm here to make some friends/connections for when I'm ready to hit the road.  I will be retiring this year and I am going to downsize my life and stuff.  So much stuff to go through it's not funny.  But I'm so ready to perge!  I've been looking online for a van to convert.  I hear Chev is the way to go.  I really like the high top vans but there aren't many Chevy's?  Is the Ford Transit any good?  I watched Bob's video on how the high top installation went and it sounded scary.  Don't want to have a leaky roof on a fairly new van .. yikes.  Bob does so much for people so I was really upset when I heard what happened to his high top installation.  I am so thankful for this forum as it gives me hope for a fuller life.  I live vicariously through each and everyone of you for the moment.  This year's winter was particularly long and miserable and I don't think I can make it through another one.  I'm into natural healing and make many healing remedies.  I don't sell anything but share my knowledge for free.  By doing this, I have been blessed and given more healing knowledge every year.  I plan on writing a small book someday to share this wonderful knowledge with the world.  This is a great site and I am looking forward to getting to know you all.  Thanks Bob for all you do for humanity.  Cheers!

Hi and welcome! I got a Chevy vandura 2500 and not a high top. Elle has been way too good to me. Not a Ford guy. But you must decided what is best for you. Good luck. Great to meet you.

Thanks Tacojames for sharing your insight and knowledge.  Yes I leaning heavily towards the Chev because I know they are dependable and that trumps everything in my opinion.

Brenbren! Welcome to the CRVL forums! I ended up with a '97 Ford E150 conversion van. La Machina Verde Grande has been a great ride and home, in spite of the fact that I really didn't want a conversion van. She's just about tall enough to stand up in. She's a work in progress. But was definitely livable as she was.

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

Thank you cyndi for sharing your info with me!  So glad to hear you got a good vehicle.  That's so important and I guess we all fear getting it wrong lol.  I will do my research and then just do it.  Cheers!

Not what you ended up with. It's what you started with !
